I want to learn more than interior design in my postgraduate course.  I hope to have more fields and ideas to study in the future. I want to combine knowledge in other fields with interior design. Meanwhile, I would like to apply new technologies to my future works such as VR and 3D print. I hope to study a topic in depth in coming year. This is because it is difficult to have such an opportunity to create freely in the future.

The 10-week language course mainly improved my listening and speaking.I can more easily understand what the other person is saying and answer.In this way, I can understand the content of the teacher in the future MA courses. I think this is the biggest gain in 10 weeks. In addition, I have learned the format of English writing and the way of thinking, which will be very helpful for my future MA courses.

Regarding my own professional future, I hoped that through my own efforts, I could change the lifestyle of more people and influence people’s behavior, which not only satisfied the basic needs of people from the perspectives of life, work and psychology, thus increase people’s inner security and satisfaction.

My school is Architecture school. There are a large number of sustainable building in the world. I will give you three examples.

Firstly, this is Paper Church Kobe. The community church was built by church volunteer and It is designed by Shigeru Ban. Paper Church Kobe, only a temporary church in 1995, the church made of paper tubes is still standing today. This paper tube is very strong and recyclable. The paper tube will be treated to ensure fire and waterproof. 58 Paper tubes were placed in an elliptical pattern.

The second project is Iseami House that be designed by Robles Arquitectos. The main concept of this house is to build a quite low maintenance house. The house is located 30 km from the nearest town. Therefore, the house has to be 100% self-sufficient house. Solar panels on the roof provide energy for the house. The main material of the house is thermal panels, which is a very light, low maintenance highly resistant for damp. All materials in the house are recyclable, such as, recycle plastic, glass and mainly the steel.

‘Fincube’ is designed by Studio Aisslinger. They want to create a sustainable living unit for rural and alpine environment. The features of the house are modular, sustainable and transportable. The main intention of the project is low impact environment and low energy consumption. The house is made of natural material such as stone, wood and glass. The house provides 47 square meters of living space with lowest CO2 emissions. ‘Fincube’ minimizes the use of land and reduce the impact of building on the environment. The flat roof can be set up photovoltaic system for electricity.

Peter Zumthor is my favourite architect, who is a Swiss architect. Peter doesn’t have a large number of productions. While, most works are good works. We can see the philosophy behind Peter’s work. For example, Bruder Klaus Field Chapel is designed Peter team. The method of construction is very interesting, beginning with a wigwam made of 112 trees trunks. Concrete were poured on the surface of wigwam. When the concrete of all24 layers had set, the wooded frame was set on fire, leaving behind a charred wall. I think that implies the role of chapel. People wash to be saved in the church.

Second architecture is Zaha Hadid, she was the first woman to receive to Pritzker Architecture Prize, in 2004. Zaha usually breaks tradition in architecture design. She have been practicing the idea of ‘ architecture more architecture’, so there will be innovative works that go beyond the realistic made of thinking and break through.

We made a poster and short film for the project. Overseas students will deeply understand depression through the poster and short film. For example, students can understand the cause and feature of depression. As a result, if an international student is with potential depression. He can immediately discover his own problem. And then, he can adjust mental attitude in the early stages that is the easiest time to cure depression.

I did a reaserch about the data of depression among overseas students. The data show that the proportion of overseas students with depression compared with the proportion of depression among general students.

Another thing, I did a poster that will show many students through black shadows. The students standing on the top of building did not jump off. And then, students have wings to fly in the sky. The process implies Depression is not terrible. Students have the ability to face it.

Our project is about international students with depression. I think that we can make a questionnaire. This is because we need to understand the proportion of depression among overseas students. It also can help our to know the cause of depression among international students. the questionnaire will provide a support for our subject.

The second advice is making a short film. This is because short film more easily catch students attantion. Short films can convey information from visual and suditory sense. Our short films will show the feature of depression and how to get out of depression. For example, one of our group to act a depressed people by dancing. We record these feature of depression.

We will collaborate with international students all around us. This is because they no long after coming to English. They easily suffer from depression in that time. We can ask them how they feel after coming to English. It will help us to deeply understand the psychological change of overseas student after coming to English. And then, We can found out the cause of depression through the psychological change. Meanwhile, We can help them to adjust mental attitude and avoide depression.

I went to Brighton with my classmates and teachers last week. Brighton is an coastal city. There are many gulls circling in the sky. I can smelt the salt of the sea. We visited The Museum of Brighton and Brighton art street. There is a lot of graffiti and collections. I would like to find some things about depression in Brighton.

I and my group members will introduce the depression of oversea Chinese students. Depression have become a common problem among international students. Many oversea students usually do not realize potential depression. A recent study from Yale university showed that 45% oversea Chinese students suffer from depression. While, Only 10% Native American students suffer from depression. We will make more oversea Chinese students to realize the existence and impact of potential depression. We would like to reduce the harm of depression of oversea Chinese students.

We watched a movie about Bjarke Ingel in the lecture room last Thursday. He is a Danish architect. There were a large number of architecures in the movie. I found his projects that are all about sustainability.

I saw a project in the movie. It is Mountain Dwellings. Bjarke Ingel tried to build a architecture of mountain slope form on the flat ground. The residence built over the park lot. The residence extended beautiful scenery, sunlight and air. He create a rare visual landscape in Denmark, a country with flat terrain.

Another project is very interesting. This is a Large multi-functional space in Hellerup High School. Bjarke Ingel do not want the multi-functional space too far from the campus, and he do not want to block each other’s view of the old buildings. The design was developed underground to build a stadium. It is named Gammel Hellerup Gymnasium. This is an underground stadium five meters deep. The roof was inspired by the parabola of a basketcall. There are windows around the underground stadium to let sunlight into underground.

In conclution, Bjarke Ingel is a excellent architect. This movie is very meaningful.

Two collections was in the Pitt Rivers Museum. The cooking pots come from ancient Italy. The cooking pots was made if green and grey soapstone. Soapstone is easy to carve, it is also durable, heat-resistant and has a high heat storage capacity.People use soapstone heating and cooking food. In addition, The stone can neutralise poison in food. I think the soapstone might can be applied in nowadays. we can use the pots to heat water and cook food. Enjoying the many benefits of this age-old technology.

This is a Indians canoes. The boat is very small, light and fast. The canoes can carry a few people and goods rapidly up and down rivers and lakes. The canoes were made of a whole tree . So canoes are waterproof and stable. Canoes need paddle to drive. Nowadays, there are many canoe competitions around the world. people improve the material of canoes.

We went to Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford with my classmates last week. It was running in Oxford that day. I was lucky to bring an umbrella in my backpack.

When we come to Pitt Rivers Museum. A model shelter for Khanty brought my attention. Khanty are reindeer herders of north-western Siberia of Russia. north-western Siberia of Russia is very cold. The purpose of Khanty shelter is to keep warming. In the middle there is a fireplace used for heating and to keep the mosquitoes away. smoke escapes through a hole on top of the shelter. The shelter consist of reindeer leather and around wooden poles. I think the shelter easy construct to keep warming in cold area. Meanwhile, the structure of Khanty shelter keep air flow. I learn that the shelter also need keep air flow in cold area.

After, I was interest in Toda house. Toda people are a small community in the hill country of Southern India. The purpose of Toda house is protect for residents from weather and wild animals. The structure does not have a window and quite small door. People need to bend over to enter from main door.
